eustream wants to ship hydrogen

eustream, which operates Slovakia’s international gas pipeline, is applying for EU subsidies to transport hydrogen in its pipeline. It has the backing of SIEA, Slovakia’s energy agency. It has submitted its H2Infrastructure project together with Nafta and SPP Distribúcia, all controlled by Czech EPH (Daniel Křetínský). Economy Minister Richard Sulík has recently completed the National Hydrogen Strategy aiming to increase hydrogen use in Slovakia. Among various projects being considered is that the new Mochovce nuclear power plant blocs will produce hydrogen at nights. That hydrogen will then need to be shipped to large energy consumers such as U.S. Steel, Duslo, Slovnaft or car plants.
