Energy consumption in Slovakia is falling

Gas consumption by households and businesses was 28% lower annually in the second quarter and electricity consumption fell by 7%, according to SPP Distribution and SEPS data. So far, only some companies must pay a higher price, and the lower energy consumption was mostly caused by warm weather. The decline in consumption will continue, as large industrial consumers such as Slovalco and OFZ are radically reducing output, and remaining companies are investing in energy savings.
