Starting in 2027, companies that are VAT payers will have to use only electronic invoices for domestic payments, under a government-approved plan. Companies will no longer send invoices by email or post but will use the EU’s Peppol system. The tax authority FS will receive invoices at the same time as clients. FS will provide software companies with licenses to integrate e-invoices into their systems. Licensed companies will likely charge a fee for e-invoices, which abroad ranges from 4 to 40 cents per invoice. VAT control statements will be abolished.
