ECB may start cutting rates in mid-2024

The European Central Bank raised its key interest rate by 0.25 of a point to 4.5% and signaled an end to rate hikes. Inflation in the eurozone has already fallen to 5.3% and the ECB expects it to fall to 3.2% in 2024. Financial markets expect interest rates to be cut as early as mid-2024, in response to the threat of a recession.
