Dalitrans invests in hydrogen
Dalitrans (Dalibor Janega), one of Slovakia’s largest trucking firms, plans to invest €4.5m in production of hydrogen by electrolysis of water at its headquarters near Trenčín. It has almost 250 trucks and some of them are to run on hydrogen in the future. The project will also include a filling station for trucks and buses. Local company Stat-Kon is to build an electrolyzer with a capacity of 200 tons of hydrogen per year by 2025. Analysts say hydrogen has a much better use in trucks and trains than in cars.
Over the last seven years, Dalitrans has increased its sales from €52m to €122m and has been in the black. It has 25 gas stations across Slovakia after recently buying eight stations from Oktan, Progress Trading and Petroltrans.
