Coalition break-up puts Recovery Facility payments at risk
The likely disintegration of the ruling coalition may hamper Slovakia's ability to receive further payments from the EU Recovery Facility. Next year, two requests for funds totaling €1.6bn are planned, and four more laws must be adopted for the spring request. One more payment request is due this autumn, but parliament must first adopt the Social Inspection Act. Slovakia is late with meeting some milestones, and the education sector in particular can be problematic.
