Bosch will produce motors for electric bicycles in Prešov

German company Bosch will build a new €200m plant for the production of motors for electric bicycles in Záborské near Prešov. The plant is to create 4,000 jobs within three years, and Economy Minister Richard Sulík estimates that its suppliers will employ another 4,000 people. Sulík expects that the government will provide the company with an investment incentive of €37m (a cash subsidy, not a tax break). Bosch is one of the global leaders in the e-bike market.

Bosch has a production plant in Michalovce called BSH Drives and Pumps, making electric motors and pumps for household appliances, with annual sales of €160-200m. In Bernolákovo near Bratislava, another plant with annual sales of €11m is renovating alternators.
