Aspin acquired largest domestic frozen vegetables firm Equus

Investment group Aspin (Jozef Špirko and Peter Ondro) acquired the largest domestic frozen vegetables firm, Equus (Vinica and Equus brands), which last year reported €13.8m sales. It was sold by Ivan Škopec. Aspin plans to invest €6-7m and double its capacity to 25,000 tons a year. Its farms, which cultivate 15,000 ha of land will now grow vegetables. The group's other food companies report sales of €100m and employ 1,000 people. These include the Movino winery and NiKA dairy and flour mill in Šahy. It also owns eight bakeries under the Dobrota brand.
