Apartment sales remain weak

During the third quarter, 176 new apartments were sold in Bratislava and, as in the first two quarters, sales remained below 200 units, according to data from developer Bencont. When mortgage rates were below 1%, sales were three times higher. The supply of new apartments also increased only slightly, by 200 to 3,233. The average price of apartments on offer rose 4% annually to €5,110 per sqm including VAT. The prices have been stagnant for six quarters already. Both buyers and developers seem to be in a wait-and-see mode, especially because of expensive mortgages.
