5G technology will be supplied by Ericsson (Slovak Telekom and O2), Nokia (Orange) and ZTE (4ka)
Slovak Telekom announced it will build its 5G network using Ericsson technology. Last week, it launched 5G service in parts of Bratislava. Orange has chosen Nokia as its 5G supplier and O2 is likely to opt for Ericsson (Czech O2 has chosen its kit). (zive.sk) 4ka will start building its 5G network using the technology of Chinese company ZTE, which has already supplied its 4G network. It might change the vendor if the Slovak government or the EU bans the use of Chinese technology. It plans to cover Bratislava in April and the remaining regional capitals by the end of 2021. Next year, it will invest €10m into a 4G and 5G network.
