The Finance Ministry is planning to introduce a 35% income tax rate on salaries above €100,000 annually from next year, aktuality.sk sources say. Slovakia currently has two tax rates, 19% on salary up to €41,445 and 25% for income above that threshold. The Ministry has refused to comment on its plans. The new tax rate would yield very little; its key role will be political/populist.
