The regulated electricity prices for households and small firms might drop 5% as of January 2021, estimates Magna Energia, an energy supplier. The 2021 household prices will be based on the price of power on the Prague commodity exchange in the first half of 2020. Due to the pandemic and warm winter, the price has fallen from €52 per kWh to €46. Oversupply has also reduced the market prices of gas and this is likely to reduce household gas prices as well. Regulator ÚRSO will set the price for households in December, also taking into account distribution costs and other fees, such as subsidies for renewables.
