Government will increase cap for wage reimbursement, so-called kurzarbeit
The government will increase the cap for wage reimbursement, the so-called kurzarbeit, from the current €880 to €1,032, which is also the cap on unemployment benefits, according to sources of the HN daily. Initially, the government set the cap at a relatively low level since it was concerned about costs. Now it sees that it has only provided €200m of pandemic assistance to companies so far instead of the planned €1bn a month. It has already decided the kurzarbeit will continue throughout June and July.
