Government wants permanent kurzarbeit

The government, employers, and labor unions agreed to set up a committee to prepare changes in the pension system and in taxes and payroll levies. One of the changes will be the permanent kurzarbeit system―higher payroll levies will fund contributions for companies in crisis. They also discussed a minimum wage―employers want to freeze it for 2021, and even labor unions admit changes will have to be made to the current legislation, setting the 2021 minimum wage at 60% of the 2019 average wage.
