The gap between ideal and actual VAT intake fell from 20.3% in 2018 to last year’s 17.5%, estimates the tax authority FS. The gap halved since 2012 thanks to many new measures. The reasons for the gap remain a subject for further studies, with tax evasion being the most likely culprit.
