Peter Pellegrini gave in and will cut taxes and toll to truckers

Truckers freed all blocked roads and border crossings on Monday afternoon after PM Peter Pellegrini conditioned further talks on tax cuts on an end to the blockage. Pellegrini said after the talks that the government will prepare legislation cutting the road tax and providing discounts off the highway toll for local truckers, disclosing no details. Truckers warned they will resume protests immediately if the government does not meet their demands. About 30 taxis joined the protests on Monday. ZAP, the local automotive union, warned that the protests are starting to hit production at car plants and automotive suppliers. If the road blockages continue, the PSA car plant in Trnava may be forced to pause production.
