The state unsuccessfully tested whether it can nudge sole traders into better tax compliance. A behavioral unit at the Office of Deputy PM ran an experiment on sole traders who postponed filing tax returns. Half of them received a notification with simple instructions on how to file tax returns and the other half did not. Sole traders with a friendly reminder were more compliant but the difference was not statistically significant. Experiments will continue.
