Kočner in control of prosecutors

The N daily got hold of a transcript of a conversation between former Prosecutor General Dobroslav Trnka and Marian Kočner from 2014. In it, Kočner threatens to kill Trnka, as the latter blackmailed Penta’s partner Jaroslav Haščák with the Gorila case wiretaps. The transcript shows that Trnka took bribes from Kočner and MPs were bought in the election of the Prosecutor General in 2011. The bribes were financed by Penta and Kočner.

In return for bribes, prosecutor Bystrík Palovič helped rig prosecutors’ rulings in Kočner’s favor, according to their electronic communication. In one case, Kočner used Bystrík to offer “30” to prosecutor Zdenko Čaniga for a favorable ruling in a tax evasion case against businesswoman Kornélia Dimičová. All deny any wrongdoing.
