VW will shrink its plant in Martin
The Volkswagen plant in Martin that employs 850 and has annual sales of €170-180m will cut its output substantially, according to sources of the Trend weekly. The plant makes transmission and combustion engine parts that are not needed in electric cars. VW denies the information and says that it will move the production of some electric car components to the plant. It acknowledges there will be a reduction in workforce, though.
