Government approved a major hospital reform
The government approved a major hospital reform that strives to improve the quality of care via closing down hospital units and entire hospitals that do not meet criteria in terms of quality and size. PM Peter Pellegrini (Smer) admitted the reform does not have the support of the Smer and SNS parties, necessary for parliament to approve it. He will continue talks with all political parties. So far, the opposition parties SaS, OĽaNO and Sme rodina back the reform, along with the coalition party Most-Híd. The reform will be implemented gradually until 2030 and very few details have been presented so far.
