Companies with owners from the global rich list

Many of Slovakia’s largest companies have owners on the global rich list. Daniel Křetínský controls energy firms eustream, Slovenské elektrárne and SSE. Korean firms Kia and Samsung are owned by families represented on the list: Chung Mong-koo (Hyundai) and Lee Kun-hee (Samsung). Hungary’s wealthiest person, Sándor Csányi, owns Mol, which in turn owns Slovnaft. Dieter Schwarz owns retailers Lidl and Kaufland. Georg Schaeffler owns bearings maker Schaeffler with two plants in Slovakia, as well as a 46% stake in Continental, with three plants in Slovakia. Andrej Babiš controls fertilizer maker Duslo and Petr Kellner mobile phone operator O2. Warren Buffett owns insulation maker Johns Manville with a plant in Slovakia and Foxconn (Terry Gou) also has a plant in Slovakia.
