Messer Tatragas expands its plant in Šaľa
Messer Tatragas, German maker of technical gas, will build a €10m argon production facility in its plant in Šaľa in the coming two years. This will be the largest facility of its kind in Slovakia. Thanks to automation, the facility won’t create many new jobs. It will recycle waste gases from the neighboring chemical plant Duslo, which launched a new €310m ammonia production facility last year.
The existing plant of Messer in Šaľa is investing €2.5m this year into expansion of its technical gas filling facility. Two years ago, it invested €1.5m into a gas cylinder maintenance facility. It employs over one hundred people and last year, it posted a €3.1m net profit on €33.4m sales.
