SkyToll is milking the toll system
SkyToll, which runs the highway toll system and is owned by Petr Syrovátko, saw its net profit soar 42% to €21.0m last year, and its sales rise 2% to €74.4m. Over the past nine years, it has made a net profit of €182.9m. Thanks to a dubious tender during the first Robert Fico government, SkyToll collected €737m from the state during the first eight years of the toll system’s existence, or 54% of the total toll revenues. In the Czech Republic, the toll system operator received 31% of the revenue, and Czechs managed to halve the expenses for the coming ten years in a recent tender.
