Rigged €100m Interior Ministry tender
The Interior Ministry’s €100m tender for the supply of 13,000 body cameras for policemen and 13,000 cameras for police stations is tailored to a specific supplier who knew of it beforehand, warns Stop Corruption NGO. The tender conditions favor Samsung cameras from 2015 that are no longer on sale. Conditions for the supply of servers, cables, and software, are non-sensical.
Last year, the public procurement authority ÚVO recommended splitting the tender into several parts, to promote competition. It also challenged several tender conditions and pointed out its overpricing. The ministry ignored the objections.
