The government will discuss cutting taxes or payroll levies for low-income workers this year, said PM Peter Pellegrini (Smer). He said the cut could take the form of a deductible (apparently for some payroll levies) that would already be applied to 2019 income. He wants to cut taxes for those earning minimum wage or slightly more.
The Finance Ministry also plans to prepare a completely new Tax Code to simplify the current tax system. It will present the first draft this summer.
