Tatravagónka expands in Germany
Tatravagónka Poprad, Europe’s largest wagon maker, owned by Alexej Beljajev, Michal Lazar and Budamar, has acquired the assets of German wagon maker WBN Waggonbau Niesky with 320 workers, that filed for bankruptcy at the end of last year. Value of the deal was not disclosed. The state-owned China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation was also in the tender for the assets. Besides its main plant in Poprad, Tatravagónka also has plants in Trebišov, Poland, Serbia, Germany and India.
