Kofola acquired Kláštorná

Czech soft drinks group Kofola has acquired a brand as well as a production plant of the small local producer Kláštorná. Over the past five years, Kláštorná, owned by the bankrupt Košice investment group Skyside, has been in dire financial straits. Not even millions from EU funds and a €2.6m investment from the semi-state investment fund SRF helped. The new owner plans to revive the brand, adding it to its roster of brands such as Rajec, Radenska, Vincentka and Evian. Another Czech drinks firm, Karlovarské minerálne vody, was also interested in the Kláštorná brand.
