The Education Ministry has prepared legislation making dual education a more attractive proposition for companies. It will offer companies a €1,000 subsidy for every student they enroll. Tax breaks for companies will double to €6,400 per student and year. The state will spend €35m in the coming three years on this. So far, just 2,700 students have taken part in the program, fewer than 5% of their total. If 12,000 students do not enroll by 2020, the state will have to return €33m in EU funds. Companies deem the new stimuli unsatisfactory and doubt the state will meet its target.
