3rd bloc of Mochovce nuclear power plant connected to grid
Slovenské elektrárne has connected the third bloc of the Mochovce nuclear power plant to the power grid. Now it will test the bloc, and plans to launch its commercial operation at the end of this year. The fourth bloc will follow a year later. The two blocs have a combined installed output of 941 MW and they will be able to cover a quarter of Slovakia’s power consumption. If run at full capacity, they will be able to reduce CO2 emissions by 7m tons annually.
