Slovakia’s healthcare is the 13th best in the EU, according to the Euro Health Consumer Index prepared by Swedish think-tank Health Consumer Powerhouse. In 2016, Slovakia ranked 23rd. Slovakia scored the best in access to treatment. Czechia (17th), Poland (29th) and Hungary (30th) were all far behind Slovakia. The Slovak favorable ranking partly stems from unreliable data on health outcomes in Slovak hospitals.
