Slovakia makes progress in Paying Taxes 2018 study

Slovakia ranks 49th among 190 countries in the Paying Taxes 2018 study compiled by the World Bank and PwC, a consultancy. Slovakia moved up seven places compared to last year. It benefits from the relative ease of tax administration, but loses out because of the relatively high tax burden, the 5th highest in the EU. Results of neighboring countries, total tax and contribution rate and time in hours to comply with all tax obligations:

tax hours

39. Austria 51.8% 131

49. Slovakia 51.6% 192

51. Poland 40.5% 260

53. CR 50.0% 248

93. Hungary 46.5% 277
