Enterprise Investors acquired local retailer CBA

Polish investment group Enterprise Investors (EI) acquired local retailer CBA Slovakia, with 310 stores, from Marián Šufliarsky. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed; the new owner pledged to provide €16m to repay old debts and renovate and expand the chain. It will keep the small-store policy. Local retailer Terno was also interested in purchasing it. EI used to own a stake in Slovak retailer Nay, has a 20% stake in Czech soft drink maker Kofola, and retail chains in Poland and Romania.

CBA managed to cut its losses 95% last year to €0.2m, and its sales stagnated at €142.6m.
