130 people are awaiting trial for corruption, 40 already sentenced

Since the 2020 election, courts have handed down verdicts against 40 people in the Smer and SNS corruption cases, and 130 people charged in corruption cases are awaiting trial. Among them are Smer’s Robert Fico, Robert Kaliňák, and Tibor Gašpar. Together with oligarchs Miroslav Výboh, Jozef Brhel, Juraj Široký, and Norbert Bödör, they ran the state and misused the police for political purposes. Central bank governor, Peter Kažimír, is also awaiting trial. After the election, Hlas and Republika want to make it harder to prosecute top-level corruption by abolishing the Special Prosecutor's Office, and Smer by taking control of it again.
