Zoznam (Martin Mác) is acquiring small radio station Viva (Ivan Lacho) and has asked RVR, the broadcasting council, for approval. Together with its portal, topky.sk, it wants to build a new multimedia format. It also wants to expand the radio’s coverage, which is now available only in Bratislava and Nitra and has a 3.6% market share, and has applied for 16 frequencies after the defunct Radio Antenna Rock. In 2020, Mác borrowed €7m for Zoznam’s acquisition from former Smer treasurer Viktor Stromček and €8.8m from SLSP.
The radio market consolidated last year when Radio Expres bought Europa 2 and Jemné stations and Fun Radio took over Vlna.
