Justice Minister Mária Kolíková and six MPs left the Za ľudí party on Wednesday. The MPs joined the caucus of another coalition party, SaS, and Kolíková is keeping her cabinet post. Coalition leaders agreed that they would not open the Coalition Treaty and re-distribute government and parliamentary posts. SaS leader Richard Sulík said that the entry of six MPs into the SaS caucus significantly increases the chance of the coalition surviving its entire 4-year term. Za ľudí has just four MPs, and party leader Veronika Remišová feels betrayed; the outgoing MPs will now push “neoliberal ideology.” OĽaNO leader Igor Matovič indicated he would not oppose Remišová’s return to his party (she left before the 2020 election). He will keep Kolíková in the government, although he does not trust her. Remišová will keep her cabinet post, too.
