UPC will not succumb to pressure from Markíza and Joj

Telecoms operator UPC announced it will not succumb to pressure from TV groups Markíza and Joj and will not stop airing popular Czech TV channels. Both groups have called on all TV operators to stop offering Czech channels as of February, as these do not have broadcasting rights for Slovakia for a large part of their content. Only Orange has complied and the remaining operators are reportedly still negotiating the request. PMÚ, the anti-trust authority, is looking into the joint action of Markíza and Joj in trying to limit competition from Czechia.
