State-run Vodohospodárska výstavba (VV) plans to invest €50m in a new hydro power plant in Čunovo, near the Gabčíkovo water dam. The power plant, with an installed capacity of 10 MW, should connect to the grid in 2026. The nearby Gabčíkovo power plant has an installed output of 720 MW and covers a tenth of Slovak power consumption.
