"There will be restrictions for sure, some gas will be missing in winter," said Peter Prokypčák, CEO of the state-owned gas utility SPP. Last year, Economy Minister Richard Sulík said that in the event of a gas shortage, large industrial consumers such as Duslo, Slovnaft and Malženice gas power plant will have to limit production. Industry consumes 2.2bn cubic meters of gas per year, while households’ consumption comes to 3bn. (hnonline.sk)

"Slovnaft should not be left to enjoy cheap Russian oil," said Finance Minister Igor Matovič. After the Russian invasion, the price of Russian crude oil fell sharply due to low demand, but Slovnaft still sells fuels at prices derived from other more expensive types of oil. Matovič says he will soon sign a "people-friendly" agreement with Slovnaft.
