Slovaks face the least affordable housing in Europe

Slovaks need 14.1 gross annual salaries to buy a new 70 sqm apartment, the highest figure of all European countries and 1.4 salaries more under an annual comparison, according to this year's Property Index by Deloitte. Last year, Czechs were the worst off, but there this indicator fell from 13.3 to 13 this year. On the other side are Belgium and Norway with a figure below 5. Israel has the highest prices of new apartments in Europe (€5,701 per sqm), followed by Austria (€4,925). In Slovakia it is €3,156 and in Bratislava €3,965.
