Poľnoservis (Ján Sabol) will make edible oils
Agriculture Minister Samuel Vlčan signed a memorandum on the production of edible rapeseed oil with Poľnoservis (Ján Sabol), which makes fuel bio-components. Following the invasion of Ukraine, Russia restricted the export of sunflower oil; along with Ukraine, it is world’s largest oil exporter. After Slávia Capital stopped oil production at the Palma Tumys plant nine years ago, Slovakia makes only minimal quantities of edible oils. Poľnoservis should start production by the end of this year and wants to cover Slovakia's entire 50,000 ton-a-year consumption. The state will help with permits but will not provide any subsidies.
