Plea bargain with František Imrecze, former tax authority head

A court approved a plea bargain with František Imrecze, the former director of the tax authority FS, who was fined €202,000 and given a five-year suspended sentence. The plea relates to the acceptance of a €50,000 bribe and the distribution of bribes to his subordinates. These were financed by businessman Michal Suchoba.

Imrecze is one of the key cooperating witnesses in uncovering the corruption network during Robert Fico's governments. He is also testifying about the corruption of Robert Kaliňák and Jozef Brhel.
