Národná energetická to use closed natural gas wells near Trebišov to drill for hot water
Nafta, controlled by EPH, and Národná energetická (Ivan Ďuďák and Ildikó Starabová), plan to use closed natural gas wells near Trebišov to drill for hot water. Cold water will be pumped into the 2.3-2.6 km wells, and warm water will flow to the ground to heat Trebišov. Národná energetická currently uses biomass to heat Trebišov. The new source with a capacity of 1 MW will cost €2m and its launch is expected in the spring of 2024. EU funds might be used for the project.
Nafta can implement similar projects in other regions, mainly in Záhorie.
