Daniel Lipšic, head of special prosecutors, had been providing legal services to Penta in the past which had paid him €240,000 over two years. Penta disclosed this in documents provided to prosecutors, pointed out Smer’s leader Robert Fico. (startitup.sk) Lipšic explained that in 2016-21, he worked for the international law firm Dentons (he became partner in 2019) that worked for meat processor Mecom as well as other companies owned by Penta. He never worked directly for Penta. In 2018, Dentons refused to represent Haščák in the Gorila case.
