IPM plans to build a plant for processing 20,000 tons of batteries per year in Šurany

ShredCo, part of investment group IPM (Marian Boček), plans to build a plant for processing 20,000 tons of batteries per year in Šurany. The recycling will result in 19,000 tons of various raw materials, including lithium, cobalt, nickel, copper, and aluminum. The partners in the project are Germany's Reckelberg ET (technology) and the state-owned Slovak Investment Holding (finance). Once the recycling operation gets underway early next year, it will create 90 jobs.

IPM, namely its subsidiary InoBat, has a 20% stake in a joint venture with Chinese company Gotion, which plans to build a €1.2bn car battery plant in Šurany.
