Highway bypass of Ružomberok to be completed at the end of 2023
The Čebrať tunnel, part of the 15 km highway bypass of Ružomberok, finally has a valid building permit. It was built as a mine, and 200 meters of its 3.6 km is yet to be bored. The bypass should open at the end of 2023, five years after the original deadline. The original price of €206m will increase by at least 50%. The bypass is being built by OHL ŽS and Váhostav, which complain of rising material prices and labor shortages. Skanska, which is completing the nearby Višňové tunnel, allegedly also faces a shortage of workers.
