The police charged Jaroslav Haščák (Penta), ex-minister Jiří Malchárek, and the former head of the FNM privatization agency, Anna Bubeníková, of setting up a criminal group and money laundering. The charges are related to the Gorilla case (in 2005-06 they met in a secret apartment and discussed corruption schemes). Malchárek is alleged to have received €1m from Haščák and Bubeníková €1.5m.
Recently, the state apologized to Haščák for his indictment and detention in a related case (Haščák allegedly paid for the Gorilla wiretaps to SIS top brass).
