Government approved plan for new 1,200 MW nuclear power plant in Jaslovské Bohunice
The government approved a plan to build a new 1,200 MW nuclear power plant in Jaslovské Bohunice. Ministers Denisa Saková and Ladislav Kamenický have until the end of October to prepare a proposal of the construction and financing conditions. A tender for the contractor is to be called in 2025-26. The project is currently under the umbrella of JESS, where the state holds 51% and the Czech state-owned energy group ČEZ 49%. According to the government, the new power plant should be built by the state, which will shortly buy out ČEZ's stake.
