Monday's earthquake in Eastern Slovakia forced the Bukóza pulp mill in Vranov nad Topľou (Ján Ďurian) to shut down production. An €80m boiler nearly exploded and the plant is at a standstill as damages are being assessed. Fiber producer Nexis Fibers Humenné also had a short shutdown. Other industrial facilities were not at risk. In Humenné, an underground hot water pipe was temporarily severed.
