E.ON is selling its combined-cycle power plant in Malženice
German company E.ON is selling its combined-cycle power plant in Malženice. According to a contract signed in 2021, the state has a 3-year pre-emption right, which it obtained in the transaction between RWE/E.ON and ZSE/VSE. Thus, the Economy Ministry has been negotiating the purchase of the plant since the end of last year, but, like E.ON, has refused to comment on the negotiations. E.ON built the 436 MW gas-powered plant 14 years ago for €430m. It also acts as a backup source for the Mochovce nuclear power plant.
