Competition on the current bank account market is heating up
Competition on the current bank account market is heating up. The three largest banks are offering accounts for free for one year, plus a cash bonus of €60 (SLSP) or €84 (Tatra banka). ČSOB now offers a free account for those with no need for branches, available via internet banking. This is the first big bank to offer a free account without any conditions to be met. Most Slovaks have their main bank accounts for free now, as they easily meet some requirements, such as spending a certain amount or having other products. Previously, only small banks such as mBank, Fio banka, and 365.bank offered free accounts.
